The NOT A BANKSY Series is a reflection on the anti-establishment art paradigm of Banksy, who, even hiding his identity, remains the most media artist of all time. A replica of one of his pieces tests his ultimate truth: the work MUST be done with impunity, otherwise Banksy is the system. The symbolic red dot, characteristic of some SiG series, constitutes the graphic sign of minimum expression and the final challenge to the Bristol artist: "Remember Robbo" he seems to say.
The same paradox presents the name of the Series that denies belonging to explain its existence. A twist on René Magritte's "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" concept, this is "Is Not a Banksy."
